Quality Inspector (Fast Hole Drill - EDM)

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Inspector to join our FHD team. This role is critical in ensuring that our precision-engineered components meet the highest quality standards before progressing through the manufacturing process and reaching our customers.
Working within a fast-paced engineering environment, you will carry out a range of inspections using manual measurement equipment, vision systems and specialist inspection techniques, while supporting quality governance, continuous improvement activities and product conformity.
Key Responsibilities
As a Quality Inspector, you will:
Perform inspections on precision-engineered cooling holes and fixtures.
Conduct manual inspections using equipment including Verniers, height gauges, shadowgraphs, pin gauges and other inspection tools.
Complete camera, vision system, ultrasonic and magnetic wire inspections where required.
Carry out batch, first-off and patrol inspections.
Support the management and control of non-conforming products.
Maintain inspection records and govern online inspection reports.
Calibrate fixtures and gauges.
Interpret technical drawings, GD&T requirements and CMM inspection reports.
Gather and review quality data to support gate reviews and final inspection sign-off.
Assist with root cause analysis and 8D investigations.
Support KPI monitoring, continuous improvement initiatives and 5S activities.
Communicate quality concerns effectively with production teams and stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety and environmental standards.
About You
Essential Requirements
Time served or at least 3 years' experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and datuming systems.
Understanding of technical drawings and CMM/inspection reports.
Experience following quality procedures and job card systems.
Experience using inspection equipment such as Verniers, Micrometers and Height Gauges.
Good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
IT literacy, including Microsoft Office.
Ability to analyse and interpret quality data.
Methodical approach with strong attention to detail.
Desirable Requirements
Experience within turbine blade, vane or seal segment manufacturing.
First Principle Inspection experience.
Previous setting capability.
Understanding of calibration principles and measurement systems.
